MAJOR HIGHWAY

Florida Turnpike

Project scope consisted of cross slope correction of the mainline and 8 on and off ramps. The 3D model was created using over 15 different pavement designs at various locations throughout the mainline and ramp travel lanes. This project was completed and submitted to the client using the new 3D deliverables method which are now a standard requirement by the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. 3D model included over 6 miles of mainline roadway with 8 on and off ramps.

MAJOR HIGHWAY

SR 84 to Interstate I-595

Project scope consisted of eliminating one of the five eastbound SR 84 ramps which transitions in two lanes causing major congestion in the morning peak hour traffic. The 3D model was instrumental determining the length of retaining wall needed for structures design within days. Structures was able to immediately start working on the retaining wall design thus cutting crucial project time off the project schedule. The 3D model was used to help revise the existing super elevation at two locations to correct imperfections on the existing super elevations.

HIGHWAY

SR 414 Maitland Blvd

The project consists of widening of SR 414 (Maitland Boulevard) from 4 to 6 lanes – with the widening to the inside median. The work effort included the planning, design and permitting of the roadway, roadway plans, maintenance of traffic, ADA and safety reviews, utility coordination, signalization, signing and pavement marking plans, cost estimates and construction supervision. This project utilized 3D modeling to re-design the roadway to save the client millions of dollars in construction cost. 3D modeling pinpointed utility conflicts early in the design phase to avoid potential drainage errors in construction caused by the limited 2D design process.

SR 570 Polk Parkway The project consists of milling and resurfacing SR 570 with cross slope correction and overhead guide sign panel replacements. SR 907 Alton Road The project consists of reconstruction of SR 907 (Alton Road) 4 lane divided section – with reconstruction of non-compliant ADA ramps. New Independence Parkway Project scope includes roadway plans, drainage plans, traffic control plans, signing and marking plans, signalization plans, lighting plans and landscape plans. SR 528 Beeline Highway 3D modeling was used for this proposal to cut roadway cross sections, calculate earthwork and view what impacts the widening of the existing ramps have on residential neighborhood and surrounding environment.
